Jason said the part of Up where Dug says, “I was hiding under your porch because I love you” nearly made him cry. I asked why, and he said it was so humble. It was a picture of us and God. Sometimes Autumn pitches a fit because she can’t have what she wants, but I know it’s because it’s dangerous or less than what I want her to have (a dead bug on the floor rather than milk in her bottle). I see God in those times too, reminding me of all the conveniences and stuff and safeties I’ve fought for with tooth and claw. I remember that He has something better. Have you seen Rob Bell’s NOOMA video on his hike with his infant son?

What a great visual of our heavenly father. Thanks for the reminder. My son is now 7 years old, and how easily I have forgotten those moments with my baby and tender nudges from God.
