I guess it’s possible that we could turn trying to listen into yet another do-it-yourself method, but I really think all we need to do is accept the normalcy that God is going to speak to us, dial down the distractions, and be a little patient. All of Jesus’s sheep can hear and respond to his voice (John 10). And the import of the Acts 2/Joel 2 announcement is this: we can all hear the Voice of the Lord.

Perhaps if we were better listeners we would “hear” more?
